Description:
This American IPA tastes of fresh citrus, juicy with a great mouthfeel. Before I went GF, Fresh Squeezed IPA by Deschutes was one of my favorite IPAs. This recipe's hop schedule is inspired by that beer.
Ingredients:
- 3.3 lbs Sorghum Syrup (60 min)
- 1.5 lbs D-45 Candi Syrup (60 min)
- 10 oz Maltodextrin (60 min)
- .55 oz Nugget Hops (60 min)
- 1.1 oz Citra Hops (15 min)
- 1.1 oz Mosaic Hops (15 min)
- 1 Whirlfloc Tablet (15 min)
- 2.5 tsp Yeast Nutrient (10 min)
- 2 lbs Buckwheat Honey (Flame Out)
- 1.8 lbs Brown Rice Syrup (Flame Out)
- 1.5 lbs Sorghum Syrup (Flame Out)
- 1.1 oz Citra Hops (Whirpool 10 min)
- 1 Packet US-05 Yeast
- 1 oz Citra Hops (Dry Hop 5 days)
- 1 oz Mosaic Hops (Dry Hop 5 days)

Yield: 5.0 Gallons
Procedure:
1. Bring 5.5 gallons water to a boil
2. Add 3.3 lbs Sorghum Syrup, 1.5 lbs D-45, 10 oz Maltodextrin and .55 oz Nugget and boil for 60 minutes.
3. @ 15 min left, add 1.1 oz Citra, 1.1 oz Mosaic and Whirlfloc tablet.
4. @ 10 min left, add 2.5 tsp Yeast Nutrient
5. Turn off burner. Add 2 lbs Buckwheat Honey, 1.8 lbs Brown Rice Syrup and 1.1 oz Citra. Whirlpool for 10 min.
6. Cool wort and transfer to primary fermenter. Aerate wort and pitch 1 packet US-05.
7. Ferment in primary for 5 days.
8. Transfer to secondary and add 1 oz Citra and 1 oz Mosaic. Ferment another 5 days.
9. Cold crash and transfer to bottling bucket. Bottle or keg at 2.5 vols.
