Description:

Inspired by a recipe from Ghostfish Brewing Company, this gluten-free grapefruit IPA combines sorghum extract, Belgian candi sugars, buckwheat honey, and classic American hops to create a beer with bright citrus aroma, balanced bitterness, and fresh grapefruit character.

Ingredients:

  • Fermentables
  • 5 lb liquid white sorghum extract
  • 5.5 oz amber Belgian candi sugar
  • 14.5 oz clear Belgian candi sugar
  • 21 oz raw, unfiltered buckwheat honey

  • Hops
  • 1 oz Columbus hop pellets (60 min)
  • 1 oz Cascade hop pellets (15 min)
  • 1 oz Centennial hop pellets (10 min)
  • 0.5 oz Cascade hop pellets (5 min)
  • 1.5 oz Centennial hop pellets (Dry Hop)

  • Other Additions
  • 1 Whirlfloc tablet (15 min)
  • 0.5 lb gluten-free maltodextrin (10 min)
  • Zest of 1/2 grapefruit (5 min)

  • Use yeast nutrients according to the manufacturer's dosage and timing recommendations.
