Description:
A true Robust Porter, as dark as brown/amber can go until it turns black. Full bodied beer with great head retention. Malty flavors with hints of chocolate and mild sweet caramel flavors.
Ingredients:
- Grain bill:
- 8 lb Pale millet malt
- 1 lb Crystal rice malt
- 2 lb French roast millet malt
- 2 lb Vienna millet malt
- 1 lb James' Brown rice malt
- 1 lb Gas Hog rice malt
- 0.5 lb Rice hulls (updated: reduced from 2 lbs)
- 1 tsp Amylase Enzyme
- 2.5 tsp Yeast Nutrient (updated: added)

Procedure:
Perform a Single Infusion Mash at 163.4 F for 90 to 120 minutes; or Step Mash at 155-165F for 90 to 120 minutes followed by 140-150F for 90 to 120 minutes with SEBAmyl BAL 100 or Termamyl, and SEBAmyl L enzymes. Use the appropriate amount of rice hulls to ensure circulation and filtration.
Allow to achieve hot break and maintain rolling boil.

0.5 oz Fuggle hops (30 minutes)
0.5 oz Northern Brewer hops (30 minutes)

1 Whirlfloc tablet & 2.5 tsp Yeast Nutrient (15 minutes)
1 oz Cracked Coriander (flame out)(optional; has since been removed from recipe)
