Beer Style: American Lager, American-Style Light Lager, American-Premium Lager
Recipe Type: all-grain
Yield: 5 gallons

Description:

Before I started writing a Mexican Lager recipe, which I already had mostly built in my mind, I had the random thought to see what ChatGPT would come up with. Well, to my surprise and dismay, ChatGPT came up with nearly exactly what I had in mind. I don't know what this means about myself, or if I am reading too much into it, but apparently you can bypass me and go straight to ChatGPT for advice. I am not including the mash regime that ChatGPT included in it's answer because that it got completely wrong. So here you go...ChatGPT Mexican Lager!

Procedure:

PREPARATION:
Clean and sanitize your work area and equipment using a cleaner and sanitizer specifically for brewing.

MASH INSTRUCTIONS:
Use Ceremix-Flex and Ondea Pro -OR- Termamyl and SEBAmyl L. Scale grain bill accordingly depending on choice of enzymes to reach projected efficiency and target ABV*. Perform a mash regime appropriate for the enzymes chosen (Click 'Resources' > 'Tutorials' > 'All Grain Brewing Tutorial'), and follow instructions in tutorial.

*It is unknown how ChatGPT calculated mash efficiency; use a beer recipe website or program to calculate more precise OG, FG and ABV.

SPARGE INSTRUCTIONS:
“Fly sparge” by gently sprinkling water from the hot liquid tank while matching flow rates of the mash tun and hot liquor tank.

BOIL INSTRUCTIONS:
0.75 oz Hallertau (or Saaz or Tettnang) @ 60 min (~16 IBU)
Whirlfloc tablet @ 15 min
0.25 oz Hallertau @ 10 min (~2 IBU)

Yeast: W-34/70 (SafLager)
