Description:

A bold and hop-forward gluten-free IPA homebrew recipe brewed with rice syrup, rice solids, and sorghum extract. Falconer’s Flight and Horizon hops deliver bright citrus, resin, and floral notes balanced by a clean malt backbone. This gluten-free, extract-based IPA is easy to brew and produces a crisp, flavorful, and satisfying India Pale Ale with classic West Coast character.

Ingredients:

  • Fermentable Bill ---------------------------------------
  • 1 lb Brown Rice Solids
  • 3 lbs Brown Rice Syrup
  • 3 lbs Sorghum Liquid Extract
  • 1 lb Candi Syrup, Amber D-45
  • Hop Bill Summary ---------------------------------------
  • 2 oz Falconers hops [9.9% AAU]
  • 2 oz Horizon hops [11.2% AAU]
  • Other Ingredients ---------------------------------------
  • 4 oz Maltodextrin
  • 1 Whirlfloc Tablet
  • 1 pkg SafBrew S-33

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 7 days at 68 degrees
Secondary Ferment: 7 days at 68 degrees

Procedure:

Remove from heat and add brown rice solids, brown rice syrup, and sorghum syrup (this prevents scorching the syrup), return to boil allow to achieve hot break. Note candi syrup is not added until 15 minutes left in boil.

1 oz Falconers Flight 7C's hops (60 min)
4 oz Maltodextrin (60 min)
1 lb Candi Syrup, Amber D-45 (15 min)
1 Whirlfloc Tablet (15 min)
1 oz Horizon hops (10 min)
1 oz Falconers Flight 7C's hops (5 min)

1 pkg SafBrew S-33
Yeast nutrients per dosing and time addition recommendations

Dry hopping:
1 oz Horizon hops (secondary)
